uPVC Window Care 101: Useful Tips for Homeowners

Spray your uPVC window in areas that need cleaning and let it set for 2 minutes. After that, you can simply wipe it off with a damp, soft cloth.

 

2. For the window glass, you can opt to use detergent soap and glass cleaners, such as Mr. Muscle, to remove window stains and dirt.

 

3. You must remember that uPVC is a durable and long lasting product however; it is not resistant from scratches. Make sure you only use soft sponges or cloths to clean your windows.

 

4. If your window frame has lost its gloss, there are many products on the market which can make it shiny and new again.

 

5. Apart from the frame and glass, you also have to check the hinges of your windows. Maintaining the friction stay track free from dirt and grime will keep it functioning perfectly. Apart from that, use machine oil to regularly lubricate the metal parts such as the pivot points.

7. uPVC windows will never fade its colour even after long exposure to sunlight. Do not repaint your windows.

 

8. Never use the following products to clean your windows: ammonia, solvent, bleach, and adhesive.

While uPVC windows are not 100% maintenance-free, a little routine maintenance and care for your windows will not hurt you or your budget. uPVC products such as windows and doors will give you a great return on your investment  as long as its looked after, even for just twice a year.
