There are many types of wet rot and they all attack damp timber.

Cladding
During the early 60's to the late 70's we saw a massive housing
boom which increased the use of timber cladding as this was cheaper
than brickwork, therefore cutting down on building costs. However,
within a few years it was apparent that this was a maintenance nightmare.
